About Dazzling Lights:
Formerly known as Ballarat's Dazzling Lights David and Katie started decorating their Ballarat home together in 2003. In 2004 we introduced synchronised lighting using DMX-512 control. In 2006 we launched our www.DazzlingLights.com web site and bought our first batch of Light-O-Rama computer controlled lighting. Since commencing our display we have received a number of awards including winning the Best Display in the 2015 The Courier Christmas Lights Competition. Over the last few years we have averaged somewhere between 5 - 8,000 visitors to our new house. Our original display in Alfredton drew crowds of between 15 - 20,000 visitors.
June 2014 saw the move from our original Christmas House in Alfredton to a brand new home in Brown Hill. A number of design considerations were taken into account including a lot of external CAT6 data and 240V power points to simplify setting up of our lights display each year. A key feature is the inclusion of a large iGlass window at the front of the house that allows us to project video to the outside.
In December 2016 our family moved to Bushland Beach in Townsville, Queensland. As part of the move David gave away the vast majority of his Christmas Lights to other enthusiasts with a plan to get back into it during 2018. The plan was going so well until late November 2017 when our youngest daughter Maddy told Katie all she wanted for Christmas was Daddy's Christmas Lights. With 4 days until 1 December a frantic rush of putting up what lights we had and some quick sequencing has resulted in a fairly modest display for 2017.
